CALL FOR ARTISTS: “River’s Legacy” Public Sculpture Series

We invite you to be part of this exciting opportunity to contribute lasting art that celebrates Jeffersonville’s unique river legacy!

The City of Jeffersonville is seeking artist proposals for two site-specific sculptures that will be part of our newest parkscape. This opportunity is open to local artists or artist teams working in sculpture. The selected works will reflect the region's deep connection to the Ohio River, the Falls of the Ohio, and the community of Jeffersonville—illuminating the area's rich cultural, ecological, and historical legacy.  Each piece should be both visually compelling and conceptually grounded in the river’s influence, past and present.

Please note: This call is for phase 2- and will be adding to the area that has sculptures already. Designs must harmonize with the existing public art installations—six sculptures and/or three murals currently on display nearby. Color must be incorporated into the final work.

Photos of the area and existing artwork will be provided to all applicants at the end of this document. ( see site plan below).

**This call is for design proposals, with a $200 stipend awarded to each artist who submits a complete and eligible proposal. Selected Artist will move forward into full project development and an artist contract for the project will be written.

This call is for Commissioning 2 (two)  sculptures at $12,000 each sculpture
